Wendy Templeton was born in Detroit in the late 60’s, but as a teenager, moved to Tampa Bay, Florida.
After an education at an all-girls school, she earned her Mass Communications degree from Loyola University in another city well-known for music: New Orleans.
A stint as a Congressional Aide in Washington D.C. gave her a taste of politics and when she returned home to Tampa Bay to help her mom run her travel business, she knew that her love of music, a gift for communication and a desire to help others might best be served through a career in radio.
Wendy brings that desire and love of music to Northeastern Wisconsin as the host of The Wendy Templeton Show heard 7pm-Midnight on Lite Rock 104.3, The Breeze.
Her radio career began at a small station, WCTQ-FM in Venice, Florida where she was an Account Executive but her real passion was to get on the air. After pleading, begging and willing to do on-air work for free, she was given the chance to do traffic reports on various Metro Network stations. She then landed at WFLA-AM/FM as a board operator overnight and on weekends where her love of radio really deepened. Her on-air presence grew at the 100,000 watt WBVM-FM in Tampa Bay, Florida – the 13th largest radio market in the United States where she was also the station’s music director and created the program “The Way Home”. In 2000, she left Tampa Bay for an opportunity to move into one of the Top Ten Radio Markets in the U.S. where she became the 7pm-Midnight on-air personality and music director at WFSH-FM in the Atlanta Market.
After three years, she returned home to Tampa Bay’s WBVM to host “More Music Middays with Wendy Templeton” and served her national client base in providing voiceover work through her own studio and company “Wendy Templeton Media Group”.
She moved with her family to Northeastern Wisconsin in December 2007 to host “The Wendy Templeton Show” heard Monday-Friday 7pm-Midnight on Lite Rock 104.3, The Breeze.
Wendy also loves to cook, write, play a little tennis and spend time outdoors hiking and exploring the countryside with her husband Luis and teenage daughter, Sabre.
